Et gennemgående træk for Yula's måde at arbejde på er, at hun hele tiden prøver at sprænge det gængse lærreds begrænsninger og derved nå "ud over lærredet". Billeder består oftes af mixed media, hvor maleriet blot bliver brugt, som et bindemiddel og medie i billedets udtryk. Det kan nævnes at Yula ynder at bruge gelemasser, ståltråd, smeltet genstande og andre genstande typiske for vores tidsalder.
In EnglishYula is an autodidact artist who constantly search ways to express her opinions and ideas. She want to give YOU an experience. Yula is known for her spetacular installations, such as ”The Postmodern Confession Chair”, ”The Mortarium” and latest the installation ”Slave”, which arcitectual building contain a machineroom, an office landscape and not to forget the slave: the living hamster! Yulas aim as an artist is to give the spectator a perspective or scenario to reflext on their lifes and the society we are living in. Her installations, performances and paintings are very often satiric approaches toward the society.
